Seasons In The South Written by
Simon Grove With Illustrations by Keith DavisAn account of natural Tasmania from the perspective of a professional naturalist.
“Highly readable and educational with topics on Tasmanian natural flora and fauna, discovery, current topics and personal stories”. Ben.
Seasons in the South is an extensive book of natural Tasmania month by month. Through the book Simon takes us around the state, in forests, lakes, coasts and the ocean, discovering insects, shells, plants and animals along the way.
Simon’s personal story runs in the background spanning two careers in Tasmania – Conservation Biologist for Forestry Tasmania from 2001 & Senior Curator of Invertebrate Zoology At The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Hobart.
Simon’s book is far from technical, in fact Simon makes a point to use common names instead of scientific names. There are so many topics, creatures and places that very few know exist which makes the book a journey of discovery for the reader.
A great read and a treasure for Tasmania to have.
